DANIEL COYLE

Daniel Coyle Architects have been realising architectural projects together with private and commercial clients since 2000.

Daniel is a Registered Architect, a member of the RIAI (Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland) and has RIAI Conservation and Environmental Design Accreditation. He has extensive experience in working on a diverse range of residential and commercial building projects, including Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian period buildings, Protected Structures, vernacular farmhouses, as well as contemporary new build projects.

Before establishing his practice in Dublin’s city centre, he worked with John Duane Architects (London), Pica Ciamarra Associati (Naples), and Cahill-O’Brien Associates (Dublin).

In 2015, Daniel obtained a Masters (First Class Hons.) in Energy Retrofit Technology (Sustainable & Energy Efficient Design) at the Dublin Institute of Technology. He has a special interest in Passive House, nZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Buildings) and low-energy design solutions for both new build and retrofit. He has carried out research into Passive-House and nZEB energy efficient design strategies, including a detailed examination of implementing these ultra-low energy building standards, in a cost-effective way. He has taught at DIT School of Architecture and currently lectures on the MSc Building Performance (Energy Efficient Design) Masters Degree course at the Technological University of Dublin.

Daniel graduated from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1995 with a First-class Honours Degree and completed his RIAI Professional Practice Examination at UCD in 1998
